As many now know, Mr & Mrs Murder is now being shown in the U.S.A. via the Public Broadcasting System, though not every PBS station in the country has picked it up. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we’re fortunate to be able to see it on Monday nights immediately following another murder mystery series that takes place in the Melbourne environs. I wasn’t sure, at first, whether I was going to like Mr & Mrs Murder or not — the first couple of episodes were “maybes” for me, but by the third episode, I found myself fully a fan of the program. Last night was the 7th episode and I really hope there will be a second season with 13 more episodes, though I can’t find anything on line to confirm its ongoing status. Still, Charlie and Nic Buchanan and their efforts on behalf of a slightly inept Melbourne police detective who actually appreciates what they do (since he takes credit for it) are highly entertaining and just enough of a hoot. I very much hope to see more of the adventures of the ToxiClean team.
I’m afraid it’s official that there won’t be another series as Mr and Mrs Murder. This came straight from Micallef himself for I sent him a letter asking him this exact question for I adore the show too.
Thanks very much for the information, Sabrina. A shame there won’t be a second season (or series, depending on local terminology). You can’t win them all, I guess. This kind of thing has happened to a lot of TV shows I’ve liked so I’ve learned to take it philosophically in my day, but it’s still annoying as all get out! But I’m glad to have the question answered in any case and I appreciate your having taken the time.
I really love this series and would love to see more.
Mr.& Mrs murder are such a wonderful couple that you fall in love with straight away and feel like great friends from the get go. Brilliant acting, funny, my only complaint is 13 Epps are just not enough!
Please, please, consider doing another series of Mr. and Mrs. murder…It’s wonderful, I don’t think I can live without it!!!:D
