Shaun appeared on the “Conversation Hour” with Jon Faine on Friday, along with Germaine Greer and Dominic Knight. Missed it? Well, Aunty ABC has the audio online for you to enjoy.
Also, sources indicate he will be on Triple J breakfast during the week (watch the Twitter feed for detail) and Gold FM in Melbourne, most likely on Monday.

Amongst all the other goings-ons, Mr Micallef has a book due out later this year: Preincarnate. Unlike his previous book (Smithereens), this is a novel – which he insists will be his first and last.
There is an interview on Fancy Goods, where he talks about his desire to write a science-fiction type book and who his literary influences are.

Now things are cracking along! The next Talkin’ bout Your Generation (this Sunday at 7:30pm) has very funny comedian Bill Bailey representing the Baby Boomers. Actor Rodger Corser (Gen X) and singer Ella Hooper (Gen Y) round out the guest line-up.

Well, we had the first episode of the new season of TBYG tonight and I enjoyed it. The guests (William McInnes, Jimeoin and Ricki-Lee) were a good choice for mine, and Jimeoin’s nonchalant attitude was worth a few laughs.
There were a few new games, but generally it was the same enjoyable format.
Games included: Accessory before the Fact (which item belonged to which TV/Movie character), TV Spin Offs and As Quick As (A fast round timed by a kettle; will we see other devices in future?!)
For the board choices, Gen Y picked Noises Off, BB had Watch Your Mouth and Gen X played Mash Up, which Shaun preferred to call Bands on the Pun.
The topic for all generations was Love (L’amour) and the end-game, worth 17 points, was a rat maze.
Gen X won the Benalla District Dance Association Runner Up trophy donated by Peter Gibson.

Shaun was on radio this morning, spruiking Sunday night’s episode of Your Gen. I caught his quick appearance on Classic Rock 91.5, where he talked about the chair he used to sit in (was the Vega studio), confirmed the guest list and joked that he was expected to get similar ratings to Masterchef.
When discussing the end-game, it seems the Maze will be a one-week event, but be prepared for more elaborate ones to come.
Being Classic Rock, the presenter asked what his favourite classic rock artist – to which he dryly replied: Sade.
Yes, now that the cooking show has finished, we can look forward to Shaun on a Sunday night again.

He certainly is very busy at the moment – Shaun has been listed as a guest star in a new ABC TV show, LAID. Written by Marieke Hardy, the black comedy is about a woman who discovers the men she has had relationships with are dying mysteriously, one by one.
Shooting has just started, and no air-date has been set, so we’ll have to see if Shaun is one of those men!
According to the ads and forums, Talkin’ ’bout Your Generation is returning on August 1st, in the same Sunday night slot – but you can expect a twist on some of the games! Watch the ad here.
In other news, if you fly with Qantas, you may also be aware they are showing cut down episodes of TAYG on their domestic flights. That should go someway to making up for all the trouble it takes to actually board the plane!
In case you haven’t frequented the official site/Facebook of Talkin’ Bout Your Gen (Tbyg), you wouldn’t know that the call has been put out for unwanted trophies!
In the 1st season, Shaun seemed to give out his own personal trophies as a prize to the team who won that week – including one of his Logies for The Micallef P(r)ogram(me)!? He must of run out by Season 2, as a more standard trophy was awarded to the best generation.
Now it seems that old awards, medals, certificates from viewers will be the prize in Season 3 – sounds like an idea Shaun would have! Got one you want to be rid of? Read the full info.
It has been eight years coming, but the very clever sitcom written and staring Shaun, Welcher & Welcher, is now available for you to watch over and over in the private space that is your own home.
The only special feature is outtakes, but the series itself is worth it for any Shaun fan.
So get to your local store (or online*), exchange your cash for a plastic disc in a plastic box, put the disc in the thing that looks like a cup tray and prepare to laugh and laugh. And cry. Then laugh again.
