Vote 1 for Shaun!

Voting has opened for the 2011 Logie Awards – Australia’s closest thing to an Emmy.

To vote, you’ll need to choose your favourites in a number of categories (including best new ‘talent’) – but the important thing is you can vote for Shaun as Most Popular Presenter and Most Popular TV Personality – ie. the Gold! You can also cast a vote for TAYG.

You’ll also need to supply your details to validate your vote – but it is well worth it…. for Shaun… 🙂

(PS. You have till February to cast your vote.)

Another Book Event

For anyone in Melbourne who missed the Preincarnate book event at the Wheeler Centre, you can now stop literally beating yourself up – there is another chance to see Shaun talk about his amazingly funny and intelligent book at the Sun Bookshop in Yarraville on December 9th, 6pm. It’s free, so make a booking to avoid missing out: call (03) 9689 0661.

[Edit 30/11 – The Wheeler Centre filmed the event held last week, so you can watch the video online]

Guests for Your Gen, 9th & 16th November

On this week’s TAYG, Shaun and the team captains are joined by comedian Glynn Nicholas representing the Baby Boomers, actor Claudia Karvan (Gen X) and musician Rai Thistlewaite from Thirsty Merc (Gen Y). Glynn and Shaun have worked together previously, notably Shaun as a writer on “The Glynn Nicholas Show”. When Glynn passed on a second season, the ABC offered Shaun a show, which became “The Micallef P(r)ogram(me)”!

The following week, Michael Veitch will be on the Baby Boomers team, Offspring’s Eddie Perfect on team Generation X and model Lucy McIntosh for Generation Y.

Another conversation with Shaun

Shaun spent an hour talking with Richard Fidler last Monday on 612 ABC Brisbane. They talked about Shaun’s influences, specifically Cook and Moore (playing 2 of their sketches), talked about how his career came to comedy and the creation of The Micallef P(r)ogram(me). Strangely, little mention about the new book. Definitely worth a listen for any fan.

Thanks to Lucy for the info!

(PS. The parliament sketch played during the show is one of my favourites!)

Countdown to Preincarnate

It’s not long until Preincarnate, Shaun’s first novel, hits the shelves. The Age have an article about it, but as Tony Martin pointed out on his Twitter – they don’t once state the title correctly. Good news is he is no shrinking violet – we can expect to see Shaun everywhere over the next little-while, including the season final of Offspring. If you are expecting another New Years show, afraid you’ll be disappointed this year.

Guests for Your Gen, 26th October & 2nd November

It’s Halloween on TAYG this week, with everyone donning the fancy dress. Angus Sampson returns for Gen X, playing up a bit for Mr Micallef. Kathy Lette and Camille Keenan from Rush round out the guests, joining the Baby Boomers and Gen Y respectively.

The following week’s guests are comedian HG Nelson for the Baby Boomers, presenter Chrissie Swan for Gen X and comedian Tim Blackwell for Gen Y.
