Shaun took Amanda for a ‘drive’ in a Mini Moke before introducing the guests: singer Leo Sayer (BB), actor Kimberley Davies(Gen Y) and model, come-actor Scott McGregor (Gen Y).

Games played were:

• Fad-tastic
• Who Goes There?
• Chinese Internet – ‘factoids’ have been censored, and each team had to fill in the answer – like a cross between Blankety Blanks and Temptation.

The four buttons round had the options King Kong, Dr. Zaius, Cheetah and Trust Me.

• Gen Y picked Cheetah, playing Watch Your Mouth – where Scott played the mouth and Josh guessed the actor.
• Gen X chose Dr Zaius which was Draw That Movie!
• Against Amanda’s wishes, Leo chose Trust Me – a challenge called Gravy Suit. The game involved Amanda answering questions to save Leo, who was dressed in a suit covered in gravy, from a pack of dogs.Getting the last question wrong meant the dogs were released (much to the enjoyment of Josh), and a bunch of puppies began licking Leo.

For the Your Gen round, each team was quizzed on The Ocean, with Shaun being particularly cruel with the questions and the accuracy of the answers.

The Phantom delivered the end game envelope, which revealed the challenge as: Which Generation is Best at Delivering Newspapers. The teams rode around a make-shift block, and their accuracy and time was measured. Gen Y won the 2004 Most Improved Jumping Trophy, donated by Astrid Vinycomb and Happy, from Williamstown.

Bad news is that “TAYG” is on break until after the Commonwealth Games, so we’ll have to wait till the 19th for our next fix of Shaun. But at least we got a brief Christopher Walken impression this week!

Tonight on TAYG, the guests were Mark Trevorrow (Baby Boomers), Claire Bowditch (Gen X) and Josh Lawson (Gen Y).

Josh (Thomas) revealed Shaun had taught him to shave that day and Claire tuned Shaun’s guitar.

Games played were:

• Befuddled – movie posters are run through the befuddle-mesh, scrambling them like a puzzle
• Whose Ink Do You Think – identify the celebrity from the tattoo
• As Quick As – introduced by Hello Kitty, who then began arguing with Shaun on if a giant power turtle was going to invade, which was fast money against a kettle.

In the four buttons round:

• BB chose Music, playing Name That Tune
• Gen Y picked Lifestyle which was What Am I Drinking – all home-remedies. Nana Gaga helped reveal the drinks, but for some reason – only 4 drinks were revealed, when there were 6 on the table?!
• Celebrity was the choice of Gen X, playing 7 Degrees – a game involving the 7 degrees of separation concept and a line-up of celebrities.

Clint Eastwood was the Your Generation topic, and the end game challenge was “Which Generation is Best at Going to Market?” – with the envelope delivered by ninja. Gen Y managed to herd the animals fastest, winning the Tullamarine Country Club Hole in One trophy donated by Claude DiCianni.

Tonight’s episode began with Shaun, Amanda and Josh fooling about in the background while Charlie monologued about Mad Magazine.

The guests were comedian Jean Kitson (BB), Todd Sampson, Leo Burnett CEO and Gruen Transfer panellest (Gen X) and for Generation Y, Faustina Agolley from Video Hits.

Shaun collapsed/napped during the introduction, asked to be called Fuzzy Micallef and reminded Jean that he was one of the (less-successful) writers on the Big Gig.

The games were:
– Name That Tee
– What’s a Doodle Do? – sung by the Swingle Singers
– Poli-waffle, where two political quotes had been mashed together

The buttons were all of Shaun’s favourite songstresses; Olivia (Newton-John), Sade and Enya; plus ‘Trust Me’.
– Baby Boomers chose ‘Sade’ which was ‘Noises Off’
– Gen Y picked ‘Olivia’, playing ¡Chronoloco! – Wedding Dresses from the decades
– Gen X succumbed to Shaun’s persistence, going for ‘Trust Me’ where the game was Human Lamington, which was played once before with Josh as the ‘victim’. It ended with Todd fully Lamingtoned.

In the Your Gen round, the teams answered questions on reptiles. The End Game envelope was delivered by Einstein (read: Back to the Future) and revealed the challenge: Which Generation is Best At Cleaning Up From After a Party.

The Baby Boomers won, taking the 2007 Gymnastics Trophy donated by Sarah Rasquina.

Tonight’s episode featured comedian Denise Scott for the Baby Boomers, comedian Bob Franklin (Gen X) and actor Lincoln Lewis on Gen Y.

Games played were:

• Accessory Before The Fact: determine the character from their accessory
• Ad Hoc: work out the TV advertisement from the still frame
• Sounds Like History: translate the news headline

The four button options were Groucho, Harpo, Chico and John Travolta.

• Gen X chose Harpo, playing Who Said That? where Bob read a line while doing an impression and Charlie had to guess.
• Gen Y picked Chico, which was Name That Tune.
• BB decided on John Travolta, playing Era Error – a 70’s disco with 6 anomalies.

Vegetables was the topic for the Your Gen round. The End Game envelope was delivered by a Dalek (or Brooke from the stage version of Mary Poppins), and revealed the challenge: “Which Generation is best at Being a Hair Dresser”. What followed were the three teams creating styles on real people that would take months to grow-out.

For their effort in creating the most ‘original’ (read: awful) style the Baby Boomers won the 1996 NSW Recreational Scrabble trophy, donated by Sue Tuckett of Marrickville.

Tonight was a Back to School special, with Shaun and all the team members dressed in uniform.

Joining the captains were Steve Vizard (BB), Kate Langbrook (X) and Andy Lee (Y).

Shaun was proud to announce ‘he was (dressed) as head boy’, discussed how Steve’s company Artist Services, which made The Micallef Program, was sold to Granada – leading to him working on TAYG – and proclaimed that he loved his school days.

Games played were:

• Fadtastic – determine the fad from the photo
• Who Goes There? – which character is missing from the photo of a school-based TV show
• What You Talkin’ Bout Willis? – decipher generational phrases

The four button options were all school subject based:

• English, chosen by Gen Y, was Draw That Book, and involved a chalk-board in true school style
• Gen X picked Social Science, which was Whose Locker Is It?
• The Baby Boomers went for Science, playing What Am I Smelling?, which were all school products

For the Your Gen segment, the topic was ‘The Three R’s’, and if the team were having trouble, a friend would call in – like a reverse phone-a-friend.

The end game was “Which Generation is Best at: Completing a School Project’ – worth 11 points (anyone could win!) With the messiest volcano, it was the Baby Boomers who won the Year 10 History Award from St Beades, donated by Dylan Ettridge from Aspendale Gardens.
